OBJECTIVE
The task for this project was to give a new aesthetic to the Mayflower Park Hotel and bring back its historic roots. I wanted to bring an important art movement into the rebranding of this hotel, from the time period it was born from. The Art Deco movement was incredibly influential during the 1920's, appearing across print, architecture, fashion, and more. With most things being so modern in present time, it felt refreshing to introduce something different, vintage, and a little more upscale. And I find that although it was influential during its own time, that it can still be influential now.
Familiar Art Deco geometric patterns, an abundance of negative space, and a simple but pleasing to the eye color palette were my tools of choice going into this rebrand. Something that can give you both a feel of an upscale 1920's, but of more modern times as well
